Build, publish, get paid.
June 17 turns a point-and-click adventure into a browser game anyone can play instantly — and buy. This is the short version of the whole journey, from your first scene to your first payout.
Getting started
Everything happens in the browser — there is nothing to install, and your players never download anything either. You author your game in the online scene editor, then publish it to your store page in a click.
- 1Create a creator account and open the Creator dashboard.
- 2Launch the scene editor and start a new game (or open the read-only June 17 sample to see a finished game built end to end).
- 3Design your rooms, wire up the story, and play-test live in the editor.
- 4Set a content rating and a price, then publish.
Building your game
The editor is organised into three groups of tools — Scene, Content, and Project.
- Hotspots — clickable regions with hover titles, examine text, and walk-to points. This is how players interact with the world.
- Walk area — where the character can move; the floor of the room.
- Mask — paint foreground scenery (a tree, a desk) that the character walks behind, with per-object depth lines for correct layering.
- Sprites & Ambient — animated set-dressing, and particle effects (rain, dust, fireflies) emitted inside an area you draw.
- Script — the room’s logic: dialogue, conditions, items, and room-entry intros, editable as text or with the visual node builder.
- Characters, Items, Menu, Flow — your cast, the inventory, the title screen, and a bird’s-eye map of how rooms connect.
Publishing
Hit Publish in the editor. June 17 assembles a self-contained, encrypted build of your game and attaches it to your store listing as a new version. The first publish creates a draft listing; from there you add a cover image, screenshots, a description, and submit for review.
Once approved, your game is playable instantly in any modern browser — no downloads, no plugins. Players can pick up exactly where they left off thanks to cloud saves.
Content rating
Every game answers a short questionnaire (violence, language, scary content, tobacco/alcohol, and a few interaction flags). We compute an age rating and the store descriptors from your answers, so players know what to expect and your game reaches the right audience.
You can update the rating any time from your game’s management page.
Pricing & payouts
Listing is free, and free games stay free. On a sale, June 17 keeps a flat 15% — you keep 85%. That covers hosting, streaming, payments, and store reach. See Pricing & fees for the details.
Payouts run through Stripe. Connect your Stripe account once, and your earnings, balance, recent sales, and payout history all live in your Earnings dashboard. Refunds and disputes are reconciled automatically.
Piracy protection
Your game never ships as readable files. The engine and every art asset are AES-256 encrypted, and the decryption key is delivered per play session, wrapped to a one-time key that never leaves the player’s tab — so a saved copy of the page is just ciphertext.
On top of that, each game has a Piracy watermark switch (Manage game → Details). When on, every playthrough carries a hidden, signed marker tied to the account playing it, so a leaked copy can be traced back to its source. It’s on by default and recommended for paid games.
Updates & support
Publishing again always creates a new version and rolls players onto it — fixing a bug or adding a room is just another publish. Your store page, reviews, and sales history carry across versions.
