Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Bitsmart Global LLC (“June 17”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses and shares information when you use the June 17 game store and creator tools at june17.app (the “Service”). Questions: hello@june17.app.

For the purposes of data-protection law, June 17 acts as a data controller for your account, purchase and usage information, and as a data processor for the game content creators publish through the Service.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information — your email address, display name, and a securely hashed password.
  • Profile information you choose to provide, such as an avatar and — for creators — your studio name and public profile details.
  • Store activity — your purchases, wishlists, saved game progress, and any reviews or posts you write.
  • Billing information — handled by our payment processor, Stripe. We do not receive or store full payment-card numbers; we keep your purchase records and a Stripe customer identifier.
  • Creator payout information — if you sell games, Stripe collects and verifies your identity and bank details in order to pay you. We never see your full bank details.
  • Usage & device information — IP address, browser and operating system, session timestamps, and log, crash and performance data, which may include anonymised or pseudonymised identifiers. Used for security, analytics, reliability and to operate the Service.
  • Communications — messages you send us, such as support emails and refund requests.

2. How we use information

  • To provide, operate and maintain the Service and your account;
  • To authenticate you, verify your email and process password resets;
  • To deliver the games you own and save your progress;
  • To process payments, refunds and creator payouts;
  • To send service notifications by email and, where you enable it, by push or in-app notification;
  • To understand usage, improve the product, prevent fraud, and keep the Service secure and free from abuse;
  • To comply with legal obligations; and
  • Only if you opt in, to send occasional offers.

We may use aggregated or anonymised information that does not identify you to analyse usage and improve the Service.

Where the GDPR applies, we process personal data on the bases of performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, your consent where required, and compliance with our legal obligations.

3. Cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies — primarily a session cookie that keeps you signed in, and during the beta an access cookie that remembers you’ve entered the beta code. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Because we do not track you across sites, we do not respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals. We do not use your personal information for advertising or automated profiling.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers (“subprocessors”) that help us run the Service, each under contract and only as needed:

  • Stripe — payment processing and creator payouts;
  • our cloud hosting and object-storage providers — running the Service and delivering game bundles;
  • an email delivery provider — to send account and notification emails.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of June 17, our users or others. We may add, replace or remove subprocessors as the Service evolves, and will make reasonable efforts to update this policy when material changes occur. We will provide our current list of subprocessors on request or where required by law.

5. Data retention

We keep account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service and meet legal obligations, then delete or anonymise it. Some records — such as transaction records needed for tax and accounting — are retained longer where the law requires. Game saves are kept while you own the game.

6. Security

We use reasonable technical measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), hashed passwords and least-privilege access to our systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

7. Your rights & choices

You can update your profile, opt out of marketing, and request deletion of your account at any time. When you delete your account it enters a 30-day grace period — deactivated and hidden, but not yet erased, and signing back in within those 30 days restores it. After 30 days it is permanently deleted, except records we’re required to keep.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Residents of the EEA/UK (GDPR) and California (CCPA/CPRA) have these rights, and we do not sell personal information. To exercise any right, email hello@june17.app.

8. International transfers

We and our subprocessors may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. Where a country sets a higher age of digital consent, that age applies. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it. Many games carry age ratings and content descriptors, and we use your date of birth to restrict access to games rated above your age.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
